Every tool below started the same way: something needed to exist, and it didn't. A timing sheet that actually did the math. A worksheet generator that printed correctly the first time. Ideas that used to die right there, because the gap between this should exist and this exists was months of work I couldn't do.

That gap is gone. These are built with AI — I describe the problem precisely, and the thing gets made. None of them would be here otherwise. They're all free and fast, and most run right in your browser.

Things I've built

Winnow

Pull the best short clips out of a long multi-camera recording. Drop in up to four camera angles and separate mics, and Winnow lines them up by sound, transcribes everyone right on your Mac, and cuts to whoever is talking. Claude picks the moments; you trim them on a Final Cut-style timeline, fix captions where they sit on the timeline, and export vertical clips with the captions burned in. Free, signed and notarized for Apple-silicon Macs on macOS 26.

Disk Atlas

See where all your disk space went. A modern Mac take on the classic Disk Inventory X, whose last release topped out at macOS Catalina. Scan any drive or folder and get a shaded treemap of every file, sized by how much room it takes, with a color for each file type. Spot the giant forgotten video, then reveal it in Finder or move it to the Trash. Free, signed and notarized for macOS 14 and later.
